Brussels, 04/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - Ahead of the Barcelona Summit, the European Parliament's Green group will be meeting with Spanish Greens in Barcelona on 7/8 March to discuss social and environmental issues and decide on their position on liberalisation and the European social model in the context of sustainable development, looking at examples of water policy and the energy market. The Belgian Green of Italian origin Monica Frassoni, Co-President of the Greens/EFA group, French Green Hélène Flautre and others will discuss social issues with the national spokesperson for Spanish Greens, Francisco Garrido. Issues surrounding the environment will be introduced by Luxembourg Green Claude Turmes and the environment minister of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Rosselo. A delegation of Members of the group will be taking part in a demonstration on Sunday 10 March against the Spanish Hydrological Plan.
