Parliament rejects Oostlander report - Victory for anti-prohibitionists

Strasbourg, 06/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - By 228 votes to 247 with 58 abstentions, the European Parliament on Tuesday rejected the report by Dutch Christian Democrat Arie Oostlander on the Commission's draft framework decision setting out minimum offences and penalties for drug trafficking crimes (see EUROPE of 2 February, p.13).
