Franc's ALCATEL is to sell off its business equipment distribution company NECO. NECO has 17 European subsidiaries employing 6,500 people, 2,400 of them in France. The favourite bidder is PLATINUM EQUITY HOLDINGS (turnover of over $2.5 bn, workforce of more than 10,000).
