09/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - According to AFP in Algiers, the Algerian Foreign Minister, Abdelaziz Belkhadem, told journalists on Monday that Algeria would be lodging a request to join the World Trade Organisation on 15 January and his country was "greatly" counting on the European Union's support in its bid to join the WTO.
