EIB increases contribution to TGV-Est Europe to EUR 510 million

Brussels, 11/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - Following an initial loan of EUR 300 million advanced to Réseau Ferré de France in April 2001, the European Investment Bank (EIB) decided on Friday to provide a further loan of EUR 210 million for constructing the new TGV-Est Europe high speed train line. Three regions of France benefited from the new loan - EUR 40 million for Champgne-Ardenne; EUR 70 million for Alsace; and EUR 100 million for Lorraine.
