27/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - At a conference last week on National Action Plans on social inclusion, the European Anti-Poverty Network argued that the plans should focus more on 1) income maintenance; 2) a social protection system for people facing poverty; 3) individualisation of rights (which has a positive impact on gender inequality); 4) equal treatment for all; and 5) a "paid work first" approach that respects human dignity and family life.
