Parliament approves Commission strategy for new chemical substances policy targeting progressive elimination of most dangerous by 2020

Brussels, 21/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report by the Swedish, Inger Schorling, on the Commission White Paper "Strategy for the future policy in the field of chemical substances, the European Parliament gave, last week in Strasbourg, its go ahead - 242 votes for, 169 against and 35 abstentions - to the drafting of a new regulatory framework instituting in the Union a single registration, evaluation and authorisation system for chemical substances - that have been marketed...
