Commission proposes extending aid regime in favour of nuts by one year

Brussels, 21/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - As announced (EUROPE of 19 and 20 November, p.12), the European Commission proposed, on Wednesday, to extend for one further year the financing of plans to improve the quality and marketing of certain nuts and locust beans. Furthermore, it proposes specific aid in favour of nut producers (especially Italian). This aid will cost the Community budget EUR 54.3 million in 2002 (50.5 million for nuts with 3.8 million for hazelnuts). All the plans for...
