31/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption of the report by Rijk van Dam (EDD, NL), the European Parliament approved the Council's common position on the directive establishing harmonised procedures and requirements for the safe loading and offloading of bulk carriers (see EUROPE of 10 February, p.13). The directive can now be formally adopted during a forthcoming session of the Council.
