Commission postpones vote of management committee on scrapping grain import tax until Thursday

Brussels, 05/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - Since several Member States (Germany, Finland, Denmark, Ireland, Denmark and the United Kingdom) want more time to consult their agricultural groups, the European Commission has decided to postpone until Thursday the vote at the management committee on the proposal to scrap at the beginning of November the extra 10 euro a tonne tariff on imports of grain by land, river or sea from Mediterranean, Black Sea and Baltic ports (see EUROPE of 29 September,...
