ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) pharmaceuticals

In Japan, TAISHO PHARMACEUTICALS, the biggest maker of OTC medicines, will be buying up Japan's TANABE SEIYAKU that specialises in prescription medicine. The $ 2.66 bil transaction will create the third biggest pharmaceutical laboratory in Japan with a turnover of nearly $4.25 bil and 1,500 employees.
