12/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - CDU MEP Karl von Wogau says that the issue of taxing currency movements should be discussed at European level since such movements can reach the level of $1,500 billion in one day, but he doubted whether the Tobin Tax would be of any use since it could only work if it were introduced simultaneously throughout the world. Mr von Wogau felt the Tobin Tax was technically possible, but politically unlikely.
