EUR 40 million loan to Belgian bank (education and health)

Brussels, 06/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank has granted a EUR 40 million loan to the Belgian bank CBC, a subsidiary of DBC (resulting in 1998 from the merger between the former Crédit Général and the former Banque Cera), to support SME investment in the fields of health and education. The loan will, on one hand, be earmarked for deployment by private schools in the French-speaking part of Belgium for financing infrastructure schemes (renovation and construction of buildings, purchase of information technology material). On the other hand, it will go to private and public hospitals, clinics, and homes for the disabled. Requests for funding are to be sent directly to the CBC sales points or to the "Department for the Public and Non-Market Sector, in Brussels.
