- Slovenia: The Belgian banking and insurance company KBC (EUR 585.2 million net profits in the first half of 2001) has signalled that it is bidding for NLB - NOVA LJUBLJANSKA BANKA, Slovenia's leading bank with a 35% market share, 200 branches, a workforce of 2900, a total balance sheet of EUR 5.3 bil and net profits of EUR 45.1 million in 2000. The Slovenian government holds 83% of the bank's capital. Some 34% will be sold in a first tranche to "key investors" and up to 14% to portfolio...
