Brussels, 16/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - European Commissioners Anna Diamantopoulou and Erkki Liikanen will present the Green Paper on 18 July aimed at promoting a European framework for the social responsibility of companies, which companies will sign up to on a voluntary basis. This Green Paper is a contribution to the goal of the Lisbon Summit of making of Europe the most competitive knowledge-based and dynamic economy in the world. This challenge consists, notably, in combining profitability, sustainability and responsibility, as well as achieving an adequate balance between flexibility and responsibility.
