Germany's SUDZUCKER agrees to pay EUR 1.6 billion (including debt of around EUR 1 billion) for France's second biggest sugar producer, SAINT LOUIS SUCRE. With this acquisition, SUDZUCKER will control 21.4% of the European Union's sugar market.
