European Commission authorises Flextronics to buy a mobile telephone factory from Alcatel

Brussels, 02/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission authorised, on Monday, Flextronics International Ltd (Singapore) to acquire all of the factory manufacturing handsets for Alcatel Business Systems mobile telephones located in Laval (North western France). It emerges from the Commission investigation that several powerful competitors exist (Solexctron, SCI Systems, etc), both at the world and European level for electronic equipment services for equipment builders.
