Brussels, 29/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EU Council of Ministers on June 25 adopted a common position on the draft decision concerning job creation measures.
This draft was put forward by the Commission last July 25 and envisages job creation measures covering: - analysis and evaluation of jobs, general political conditions, and the impact of community policies ; - exchange of experiences between Member States ; - monitoring the European strategy for employment in Member States, especially through the European Observatory for employment ; - the technical and scientific work needed to develop a common set of indicators and the standardization of performances. The budget earmarked for carrying out community activities, from January 1, 2001 until 31 December, 2005 is 55 million euros.
