Brussels, 29/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised a consortium composed of Autologic Holding Plc (UK), TNT Holdings BV (Netherlands) and Walleniusrederierna AB (Sweden) to take control of the Compagnie d'affrètement et de transport (CAT). This subsidiary of the French automobile group Renault provides logistics services to the automobile sector, mainly to the parent company. The latter has decided to entrust an external firm with the logistics business previously carried out internally for finished vehicles, and only to keep minority interests in CAT. The Commission has only noted one incident of overlapping on the general logistics contractual services market where both TNT and CAT are present. Nonetheless, their combined market share will be less than 15% in the EEA, which does not pose a problem of competition.
