French GEMPLUS, world leader in chip cards, is to sell its subsidiary SKIDATA (turnover EUR 80 million in 2000 with 350 employees) to the Swiss group KUDELSKI, specialised in digital technologies. The move, in cash and in shares, makes SLIDATA worth EUR 140 million.
