Brussels, 27/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - European Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy begins a three-day visit to Morocco, on Thursday. During his visit, following closely on the heels of External Relations Commissioner Chris Patten, he will confirm the Union's continued support to this country and to its efforts for economic modernisation. A "hearing" with King Mohammed VI, on Friday, remains to be confirmed but talks are announced with the Prime Minister Mr Youssoufi and Trade and Industry Minister Mr Mansouri, Foreign Minister Mr Benaissa, Minister for the Economy Mr Oualalou, and Agriculture Minister Mr Alaoui, as well as meetings with the Parliament, civil society, business circles and the textile sector.
