20/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EP Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, chaired by German Social Democrat Christa Randzio-Plath, adopted by 14 to 11 with 4 abstentions a resolution (to be discussed in plenary in July). It calls on the European Central Bank to review its inflation policy and its definition of price stability. In particular, CDU elected member Karl von Wogau voted against, considering that this brought the ECB's independence into question.
