11/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The representatives of the "regional governments" and of consumer organisations in Toscany, Latium, Marches, Umbria, Abruzzia and Molise organised, on 7 June in Brussels, a workshop on the theme "Consumer movement in the regions of central Italy: subsidiarity and interregional cooperation", with the notable participation of several regional ministers, MEP Guido Sacconi and Committee of the Regions member Olivier Bertrand. A press release recalls that the regional laws have, in Italy, delegated substantial powers to the regions in economic and commercial matters, thus allowing them to better protect consumers' interests.
