European parliament adopts European level recommendations on alcohol and young people

Brussels, 23/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - In voting overwhelmingly in favour of the slightly amended report by the MEP Catherine Stihler (Labour, UK) on the consumption of alcohol by children and teenagers (see EUROPE of 9 May, p.16), the European Parliament mainly called for 1) support for measures such as labelling that informs consumers about the alcoholic content of products to raise consumer awareness particularly amongst children and teenagers of the effects of drinking alcohol and...
