Commission investigates State restructuring aid granted to German metallurgic companies

Brussels, 23/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided, on Wednesday, to open an investigation procedure to check the conformity with Community law of the State aids granted by a German region (Thuringe) to two companies, Schmitz-Gotha Fahrzeugwerke GmbH and Gothar Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH (located in Gotha). This concerns restructuring aids that have been paid after 1 January 1997, whose amounts total EUR 4.755 million for Schmitz-Gotha Fahrzeugwerke and EUR 4.993 million for...
