Mrs Ferrero-Waldner welcomes proposals from Mr Schröder, but calls for natural development of Union institutions

Brussels, 18/05/2001 (Agence Europe) -In a speech made at the Austrian Permanent Representation in Brussels, the Austrian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Benita Ferrero-Waldner underlined that the future institutional reform of the Union must not only come from the top or from experts and called for a major involvement of the population. She also distanced herself with regard to the speeches that talk of finality for the European Union because, she says, I believe that a living political union...
