Commission adopts action plan to step-up fight against fraud over 2001-2003 period

Brussels, 16/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - In addition to the adoption of its Report 2000 on the protection of the EU's financial interests (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.9), on Tuesday the European Commission adopted an action plan for the 2001-2003 period to step-up the fight against fraud, structured around four objectives:

1) developing an overall anti-fraud policy: the Commission intends, notably: - adopting a communication on "fraud-proofing"; - setting up a system for exchanging information...
