Brussels, 04/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The index prices of agricultural products in the European Union rose moderately (+4.3%) in nominal terms in the fourth quarter of 2000 relative to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, according to statistics recently published by Eurostat. This rise was greater than the rate of inflation so the real (i.e. deflated) index also rose (1.7%). The same increases was registered in the euro zone.
