7,000 tonnes of cereals in aid to Chad

Brussels, 04/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - Friday, the European Commission decided to grant food aid of 7,000 tonnes of cereals to the Republic of Chad to help the shortage in the country's most vulnerable areas (notably Guera and West-Batha). This aid represents a third of the total quantity of cereals requested by Chad of the international community. So that the aid reaches the populations most affected by the famine by June, food will be bought on the ground or imported from neighbouring...
