Brussels, 04/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission authorised the creation of a joint venture between the Dutch companies Getronics NV and Hagemeyer NV which will merge, to this effect, their wholesale distribution subsidiaries for information and communications technology in the Netherlands namely Datelcom (Getronics) and Codis (Hagemeter). The main activity of Getronics is the provision of services in the field of information and communication technology (ICT). For its part, Hagemeyer distributes and supplies industrial products and services, notably electrical, security and ICT products. The Commission investigation showed that the creation of the joint venture (forecasted annual turnover of EUR 450 million with 250 employees) would not lead to the creation of a dominant position in the market for the wholesale distribution of information technology products and services.
