BELGO-MINEIRA, subsidiary of the Luxembourg steel group ARBED, CVRD - CIA VALE DO RIO DOCE and RIO TINTO are negotiating the construction of a steelworks in Brazil intended to cover the growing demand for steel in the country. The plan will involve overall investments of $800 million. The plant will produce 500,000 tonnes of crude steel a year.
