21/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of the International Day Against Racism, on 21 March, Anna Diamantopoulou awarded the "Innovation Prize" to the winners of the competition on innovative action in the fight against racism. This prize was awarded in the presence of José Leitao, High Commissioner for Immigration and Ethnic Minorities; Ms Lynne, MEP; and Ms Winkler, Director at the European Observatory on Racist and Xenophobic Phenomena in Vienna. The prize covered three categories of projects; promotion of anti-discriminatory measures in and by public administrations, and the elimination of forms of discrimination in employment.
