Parliament subscribes to German initiative aimed to facilitate judicial cooperation in civil matters

Brussels, 16/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, with 475 for and 13 against and 20 abstentions, the European Parliament approved the report by Luis Marinho (PES, Portugal) concerning a German initiative on obtaining evidence in civil and commercial matters. MEPs welcome this draft regulation but call for more information on the use of languages, the reimbursement of costs between the different Courts of Justice of Member States and a better use of new technologies.
