Swoboda report calls for credits for Turkey to be transferred from Section 4 to Section 7

Brussels, 09/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - Next Wednesday, the EP will debate the report by the Austrian Social democrat Jannes Swoboda on the draft regulation concerning assistance to Turkey in the framework of the pre-accession strategy: by following the rapporteur, the plenary should invite the European Commission to classify these credit allocated to Turkey in Section 7 (pre-accession aid) rather than in Section 4 (external actions).
