Brussels, 22/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - Taking the floor at the conference organised by the French Employment Ministry and the International Labour Office (ILO) on "Decent Work and a Globalized Economy", in Annecy (France) on 18 and 19 January , Elisabeth Guigou, French Minister for Employment and Social Affairs, said she was "in favour of a Social Davos, and not an anti-Davos that already exists".
This conference, held two days before the World Economic Forum of Davos (Switzerland), had as goal to identify the changes of the past 25 years in the fields of employment and social protection, and to compare developments observed in the United States an Japan.
