Brussels, 29/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has initiated anti-dumping proceedings on imports of zinc oxide originating in China. The complaint lodged last November by Eurométaux on behalf of most Community producers, provides sufficient evidence of the existence of dumping practices and considerable injury. The complaint reveals that such imports have increased on the whole, both in absolute terms and in terms of market share, and that their prices and volume have in turn affected the situation of the Community industry, its market share, sales and prices. Interested parties are invited to submit their views on the proceedins, including on the choice of the United States as the market economy reference country, states the notice published in Official Journal C 366.
