Adoption of regulation on unbundling of local loop, which will be enforced as of next January

Brussels, 06/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Council formally adopted the regulation on the unbundling of the local loop. Christian Pierret, French Secretary of State to the Ministry of Finance and Industry, who chaired the Council session, welcomed this adoption, underlining that "the convergence of the efforts by the Commission, Council and Parliament enabled to complete in a remarkably short time despite the opposition that existed at first".
