ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

In Italy, SANPAOLO IMI has acquired 3.1% of the capital of the commercial bank MEDIOBANCA in which it becomes the third largest shareholder. Furthermore, SAN PAOLO IMI has announced that its bid on the minority capital of BANCO DI NAPOLI would be made from 8 to 28 November. The bid is for 43.9% of the ordinary share capital which it does not yet own and is around 1.533 euros per share.
