ECHO grants EUR 3.5 million to finance programme to prevent natural disasters in Central America

Brussels, 25/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to grant EUR 3.5 million in humanitarian aid to four countries of Central America (Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador) to finance an action plan for disaster preparedness and prevention in the region. The funds are made available from the ECHO budget (European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office) and will allow non-governmental organisations active on the ground to conduct ten projects over the next twelve...
