Brussels, 31/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission, as we have previously indicated, authorised the British company Menzies Transport Services Limited (MTS) to take control of Lufthansa Ground Services (London) Limited (LGS). This operation will be carried out via the acquisition by MTS of 49% of the capital in LGS from the German company Globe Ground GmbH (GG GmbH), which presently holds 100% of the company. LGS provides assistance services to stop-over passengers as well as assistance services to operations on Heathrow runway. Subsidiary of John Menzies plc, MTS carried out, activities in the maintenance, loading and transport of freight the provision of assistance services on stopovers to passengers and assistance services to runway operations, the taking-over and refuelling of planes, as well as the provision of security and medical assistance services in airports in the United Kingdom.
