Brussels, 23/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - "The functioning and Supervision of international Financial institutions" is the subject of a survey published by the Directorate General for Research of the European Parliament and drawn up by the Univesita Commerciale "Luigi Bocconi", the "Paolo Baifi" Centre for Monetary and Financial Economics an the Newfin - Financial Innovation Research Centre. This two-volume survey provides an overview of the problems affecting international financial institutions in the past few years, before looking at different proposals aimed at redefining the world financial system at macroeconomic level (role of the institutions, exchange rate systems….) and microeconomic. Finally, the authors propose improvements that could be made in Europe.
