EU calls on Uganda and Rwanda to cease hostilities and withdraw from Kisangani

Brussels, 13/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Portuguese Presidency of the Council made the following declaration on behalf of the EU:

"The European Union expresses its utmost concern at the renewed fighting between Rwandan and Ugandan forces in Kisangani, which has resulted in the deaths of civilians, damage to property, and has put the safety of population and UN personnel at unacceptable risk.

Those military actions occurring in the territory of a third country are totally intolerable and...
