26/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The co-Presidents of the Green Group in the European Parliament, Heidi Hautala and Paul Lannoye, reacted with stupefaction to the words of Jorg Haider who, in an interview published in the Austrian weekly "News", called for the commencement of legal proceedings against Johannes Voggenhuber, Austrian Green member of the EP, and Alfred Gusenbauer, leader of the SPO, as well as the withdrawal of their mandates, for their criticisms of the Austrian Government. The two co-Presidents say they are shocked at the silence of the Schuessel Government faced with such attacks and claim that this silence infringes the preamble of the agreement of the government's coalition agreement.
