French SAINT-GOBAIN has announced the acquisition of the canalisation activities of the British group BIWATER INDUSTRIES (turnover nearly £60 million in 1999 with 700 employed). The "canalisation" branch of SAINT-GOBAIN met a turnover of around FF 10 billion in 1999. The amount of the acquisition was not given.
