14/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - Thursday evening, the EP adopted a resolution by which it notes that the outcome of the presidential elections in Taiwan provide "additional proof that Taiwan has become a fully-fledged democracy" and urges Taiwan and China to find a solution to their differences. In addition, it urges the Commission to open up a representation in Taipei (given the "low state of our resources", this is not, for the time being, one of our priorities, replied Commissioner Pascal...
