ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) television

The Dutch cable operator UPC - UNITED PAN EUROPE COMMUNICATIONS (DM 113 million turnover in 1999 with over 6 million subscribers in 13 countries) has announced the purchase of EWT/TSS which holds the fourth largest cable television network in Germany with 1.1 million households connected. The cost of the operation, estimated at 1 bn euro, was achieved with 25% in cash and 75% in shares.
