Luxembourg, 28/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment bank granted its first loan, of EUR 60 million, for projects in Bosnia Herzegovina. Allocated to the government, this loan will contribute to the financing of three road improvement projects: an express motorway from Sarajevo, a bridge over the Neretva river in Capljina and the modernising of various road trunks of national and international importance. The agreement between the European Union and Bosnia, enforced since last year foresees the granting of EIB loans to the amount of EUR 100 million over two years, for projects in the transport, energy and environmental sectors. These loans carry a 2% interest rate subsidy provided by the EU budget.
