ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

PORTUGAL TELECOM has launched a public takeover bid of PES 240.7 billion on the ordinary shares it does not yet own in TELESP CELULAR PARTICIPACOES, a holding that controls the Brazilian mobile operator TELESP CELULAR. PORTUGAL TELECOM owns 19.3% of the holding.
