GENERAL NEWS / (eu) ep/commission

16/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - Parliament approved (339 in favour, 26 against, 111 abstentions) its resolution on the European commission's legislative programme 2000. It approves the Commission's intention of focusing on essential tasks, on condition that this intention is no abusively invoked not to act in certain fields or to avoid delicate political problems. EUROPE will return to the resolution. For the debate, see yesterday's EUROPE, pp.9/10.
