15/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The EU Council has added three new Indian entrepreneurs to the list of cotton bed linen exporters subjected to a reduced anti-dumping duty. These exporters have been granted the same treatment as companies having cooperated during the previous investigation, ie., a weighted average duty rate of 11.6% will be applied. All three (Creative Mobus Fabrics, Falcon Finstock and Pacific Exports) were in fact able to demonstrate: I) the quality of the new exporter; ii) the absence of a link with other incriminated Indian, Pakistani of Egyptian dealers; iii) that their operations only began after 30 June 1996 (end of the period of investigation on which the anti-dumping measures are based) or that they are held by contractual and irrevocable obligations to export a large quantity of bed linen to the Community. A rule amending that of November 1997 will be published in the Official Journal in the coming days.
